Big firms own pro-sports team ②
Harsh situation after 2008
After the "Lehman shock 2008",many Japanese big firms who had pro or semi-pro sports team and athletes have had hard time.
Especially the companies who have public investors.
Those investors have had insisted that having top athletes in firms are no needed.
They have said top athletes do not generate concrete profit.
And also many companies had no money to maintain the top athletes.
Value change in people
In 1960's 1970's and 1980`s,generally speaking, many Japanese work very hard and had very high loyality to their firms.
Firms were very important and employee belong to their firms just like as a family member.
Those high loyality generate big profit. And Japanese economy were very good.
Big firms generate big profit ,like, SONY,HONDA,TOYOTA, TOSHIBA,PANASONIC etc
But after 1990`s, people`s value of working have changed.
People started thinking that personal life is first. Not company first.
So, some people think that no meaning to have top athletes in firms.
Now,Sports teams and athletes are no longer "the symble" of sprites of team work in some companies.
