JICA：4200 sports volunteers to developing countries

JICA: Japan International corporation agency has sent 4200 volunteers of sports related professionals to developing countries since 1965. JICA is a angency under Japanese foreign ministry. There are 1800 people working in JICA.Their main job is to offer or loan money to developing coutries as ODA,Official development assistance. And they also

send specialists to developing coutries, such as doctors,teachers,engineers and so on.

They have sent about 50,000 specialists since 1965. Specialists stay overseas for 2 years.At this moment, about 2,500 specialists are working overseas.

 I visited JICA show room in Tokyo, Shijuku district 10th June 2018.

Access: 10minutes walk from JR ICHIGAYA station.Their show room is open for public from 10am to 16pm from Mon to Sun. You can get many kinds of information related international corporation. 

 It is a quite big building in the heart of down town Tokyo.(just 10 minutes,  from JR Tokyo station to JR Ichigaya station.)

 As a sports specialist, 4,178 people has sent overseas since 1965.

 754 people have sent to African 12 nations.

 1,325 people have sent to south American 7 nations.

 Her name is Saki  Ikuyama.

Swimming coach at Cambodia  national swimming team since 2016.

 She was a captain of Tokai Univ swimming team in 2014.

After graduation,she joined JICA and has sent to Cambodia.

She is now working there as a contructor, because she had finished her two year duty as a JICA volunteer worker.
