There are about 600 sumo wrestlers. And here are the top 50 wrestlers salaries.

1, Ranking 1 to 3---US$ 400,000/year

2, Ranking 4 to 10--US$ 350,000

3, Ranking 11 to 20--US$ 220,000

4, Ranking 21 to 30--US$ 180,000

5, Ranking 31 to 50--US$  150,000

 Note: Japanese mens 40 years old average salaries is about US$ 50,000/year

Bonus

Top 20 ranking of them can get some other earning.Such as advertisement fee.

So people say that they earn almost double.It means Ranking 1 to 3 could earn US$400,000 plus 400,000. Total 800,000/year.

Wrestler`s lifetime  expectancy.

Most of them become wrestler when they are 16 to 18years old and retire when they are 25 to 33 years old.It means they could work only 10 to 15 years.

Young and low ranking of them earn US$ 10,000 to 30,000/year only.

Sumo association offer food and bed for all wrestler for almost free.It is good for young wrestlers.
