Sports business seminor:Mayor of Saitama city

First Japanese city which has created written "Sports regulation".

Yesterday, I attended sports seminor called "Number business college" which was organized by Japanese best and high quality sport magazine "Number".

And guest speaker was Mr.Shimizu who has been a mayer of Saitama city for the last 9

years.Saitama is just 30 minutes from Tokyo station by train.The population is 130 million.So a lot of people commute to Tokyo from there.

When he was elected as a mayer,he had pubic commitment to create " Sports regulation"as Saitama city.The regulation is a kind of "Local rule" which Saitama people,Saitama local government worker, and Saitama city coucil member need to be follow.

Saitama has "Tour de France "?

Thanks for that "sports regulation",Saitama has been a host for the "Tour de Saitama" every year in Nov.Almost all top cyclist from real "Tour de France" join this onde-day race. About 100,000 people enjoy on site.

Saitama city pay about 50% of money to run this event.It is called "sports subsidy".

Without "sports regulation" and "sports subsidy" this big wonderful event would not take place in Saitama.

Why written "Sports regulation" is needed?

To use subsidies,people need to persuade local citizen and city council members.

So if you have "the regulation" you can use it as a effective way.

Saitama city is now saying "Make  Saitama people  happier and healther through sports.

Very few city has this kind of regulation in Japan.
